Mecca Bingo Drop Welcome Bonus In Favour Of Free Bingo

As bingo players we all have differing opinions of what makes a great welcome bonus at a site; some of us prefer not to have to deposit any cash to trial the games whilst others are happy to reap the rewards of a first deposit cash match. Mecca Bingo have recently dropped their cash match welcome bonus in favour of a free bingo offering for new players but is this really a good move?

The previous welcome offer from this giant amongst bingo sites was a 200% cash match on your first deposit but a change last month saw the introduction of the free bingo room for ‘newbies’. A couple of issues with this new offer from Mecca Bingo are quite clear
a) The free bingo room is only open for two sessions a day, this means that new players only get to benefit between midday and 2pm and then again from 7pm until 9pm – what about the players who join in the other 20 hours remaining of the day?
b) Whilst a new player has the chance to win up to £25 on the free bingo games, this is in bonus money only. A deposit is required before money is available for withdrawal anyway and with no cash match on offer it feels like those who aren’t winners in free bingo are losing out. Read our Mecca Bingo review.
It seems that the world of online bingo is being inundated with free bingo offerings but is this really what the average bingo player wants? From a personal point of view, I would much prefer a cash match bonus and know the once I’ve met the sites wagering requirements I can withdraw my money without the hassle of worrying if it was won with bonus money making me ineligible to withdraw the cash.
