Great Grand Mother Wins Big At Mecca Bingo

Not many of you reading this will know but I live in sunny Wolverhampton in the West Midlands (and no I do not have a Brummy accent). So you can see why it bought a smile to my face when I saw a local great grandmother recently hit the big time after playing for more then twenty years at the Mecca Bingo Club in Springvale Way, Bilston.
The lucky lady, 48 (yes that says a lot about Walsall, 48 and a great grandmother already!) has played at the same club ever since it opened and plays there four or five times a week.
She won half of the national bingo prize (£29,064) so picked up £14,532 as well as the regional prize of £1,150 and the house prize of £24 so walked away with £15,507 in total
Her family were over the moon and said “good on you mum”. She plans to use the money to pay off her debts and treat all of her family. It’s good to see someone who is a real bingo addict win and I hope she enjoys blowing every single penny.
Wolverhampton seems to be in the bingo press a lot recently, I read the other day that a another great grandmother who has just turned 90 is still enjoying working as a bingo caller for fellow residents in the sheletered housing scheme she lives at.
The mom of three and grandmother of two only started playing a few years ago but now loves the game and says she has no intentions of stopping; I just hope I have the same get up and go if and when I reach that age!
