Foxy Bingo Show

Well did you watch it? The most talked about television advert of the year aired last night during Coronation Street and as I predicted it was good old Foxy making his welcome return to our screen. His disco ball landed, the women flocked from far and wide and the coolest member of the canid family danced his way down the ramp to the sounds of Funky Town to declare its Foxy Time and he has one million pounds to give away this month. The fun did not end there though because if you have Sky TV and press the red interactive button you could watch the wild and whacky Foxy Bingo Show.
The Foxy Bingo Show is hosted by the slightly manic Rowland Rivron who people of a certain age will know from such great shows as The Last Resort or from the 1998 single ‘Vindaloo’ by Fat Les. This great British comedian is certainly an unusual choice of host but fits in well with the overall theme of faced paced fun and randomness. The Foxy Bingo Show even has its own Russian band called the Foxy Fantasy All Stars which includes Goran who apparently was abducted by aliens and can now only communicate through music! (I told you this was very random).
Kicking off the new show a bizarre troupe of Russian musicians, a dolly bird and Elvis went to visit a lady called Debra in their open top pink caddy to let her know she had won five nights in Vegas. Debra looked genuinely surprised when they knocked her door and was actually playing at Foxy Bingo when they arrived!
Back to the studio and it was time for the all new ‘Behind The Sofa’ feature and this weeks star guest was …………. wait for it …………… drumroll ……………. CHINESE ELVIS. Not exactly sure what was going on at this point as Elvis strutted his stuff to the Foxy Fantasy All Stars before ringing Debra to give her travel advice for her trip to Vegas.
Rowland then introduces us to the Foxy Bingo boffins in the back office who come up with the great Foxy Promotions but sadly they are all sitting around stumped for ideas – even the one dressed as a parrot (don’t ask). The meeting was then interrupted by a six foot tall monkey and we are sent back to the studio.
By this point my head was spinning and we have only just reached the ‘Rowland’s Sock’ segment. Rowland revealed a set of red and blue socks covered in hamburgers and announced you could actually win £1,000 simply by logging in to Foxy Bingo and sending in suggestion as to who the socks would best fit.
Rounding off the show we have one of the bingo sites recent winners ring in to thank Foxy for her recent £12,500 win and they surprise her by giving her another £500!
I am going to be totally honest here and I am not sure if I love or hate the Foxy Bingo Show and I kind of think that is the reaction they were hoping for. This is a very innovative and exciting approach to bingo advertising and I think the show will have grown on me by the time I tune in to see the second episode in two weeks time.
