Purely Bingo Review
Update: On November 5th, 2010 email notification was received by all players on the Purely Bingo list that the brand had been forced to close by it’s software provider. Whilst Purely Bingo suggested that they were looking for a new software provider we would suggest that it is unlikely we will see this brand name available in the world of online bingo again.
Purely Bingo is a bit of an unusual online bingo site in that it was set up to offer just that, Purely Bingo. Originally set up in 2007 they wanted to offer bingo players a place where they could enjoy bingo without any of the ‘distractions’ such as side games and slots. The original site used the Cozy Games software but last year they became the first site in the UK to move to the Play N Go platform which greatly improved the bingo experience they offer.
The Purely Bingo homepage is best described as basic and is in desperate need of a makeover to give them a fighting chance in an ever more competitive market. The page is made up of large blocky banners that do the job but are far from appealing. The site has a very basic navigation system and to be honest we found a real lack of information available without going through multiple sub sections, there is no promotions page and the help section is minimal.
Whatever you do though do not let the home page put you off because you are actually inside the game rooms they are a real delight and make a real change from anything you have seen before. The rooms are all very well designed and you have the ability to move around individual components and even close them down if you don’t want them. You can move the chat panel from one side to the other or even close it down completely that will allow you to view your tickets in full screen glory. The new software also means there is now two side games you can enjoy too but again this area of the room can be closed down if they do not interest you.
Purely Bingo really is a tale of two cities, the overall look of the site and the home page does not do the site justice, the bingo experience they offer is one of the best out there but we fear too many people will not take the time to progress past the home page which is a real shame. If Purely Bingo takes the time to look at their site and redesign it to the standard of the competition they could very easily become a force to be reckoned with.
